Postgrad Education in Neuropsychology
CERA's clinical neuropsychologists contribute to postgraduate education through formal lectures and supervision during clinical placements. Clinical placements at CERA introduce students to a range of cognitive disorders associated with old age. Students gain practical experience in neuropsychological assessment and knowledge of the various neurodegenerative disorders of ageing.
Students are accepted from the neuropsychology training programs (Clinical Masters and Doctorate level) run by Macquarie University and the University of Sydney. Students work 1-2 days per week under the supervision of Dr Barney Casey and Dr Tanya Lye. During the placement, students participate in the assessment of patients referred to general and specialist outpatient clinics such as the Cognitive Disorders Clinic or the Movement Disorders Clinic.
CERA clinical neuropsychologists are also involved in the co-supervision of students' theses when these involve research conducted performed at CERA.
