Informal networking opportunity on evening of Monday November 20
While there is no formal Conference Dinner, we have organised an informal dinner and opportunity to meet other conference delegates on the Monday night. This will be at the James Squire bar on King St Wharf on the East side of Darling Harbour from 6.30pm onwards. You can turn up at any time. Meals are available for purchase. While it is not necessary to register for this, you could let us know by email if you expect to come so we have some idea of numbers.

The ERA 2006 Conference aims to showcase the latest ageing-related Doctoral research from a range of disciplines. Previous ERA Conferences have been organised by the Australasian Centre on Ageing at the University of Queensland and held in Brisbane annually since 2002. This year, in order to spread the benefits of this highly successful conference to other parts of Australia, it will be conducted in Sydney and organised by The University of Sydney, in association with the University of Queensland. ERA 2006 is part of the emerging researchers initiative of the ARC/NHMRC Research Network in Ageing Well.

For Doctoral students the benefits of participating in ERA 2006 include:
Publication of your paper in peer reviewed conference proceedings.
Presenting your research findings to a diverse audience including students, academics, policy makers and practitioners.
Opportunity to meet prospective employers from the government, non-government and private sectors.
Networking with other PhD students researching ageing from a wide range of disciplines.
Learning more about the broader context of ageing.

For policy makers, service providers and practitioners, benefits include:
Hearing first hand the latest emerging ageing research.
Meeting the best new researcher talent and observing them in action.
Networking with other professionals and colleagues within the ageing sector.
Discussing critical and emerging trends related to ageing.
