Residential and Community Care

- Dementia Respite Care Project

The provision of accessible and flexible respite services is an issue that has been identified as a priority by health professionals, carers and policy makers. With funding from the Department of Ageing, Disability and Home Care, CERA has researched and developed a resource package that can be used by service providers who are establishing a new respite service or expanding an existing one. The package explores models of respite care and encourages users to assess the accessibility and flexibility of their service. It also includes principles of good practice and examples of innovative respite programs.
